Ready for a cool bee fact!
Did you know that honey bees communicate with each other with a special “waggle dance” to give directions and distance to the nearest flower. The bigger the waggle – the better the food!
I love LEARNING about food and sharing it with y’all and encourage YOU to try some new things. Bee pollen has been one of those things I heard others talk about, but never jump on the train to eat it. Well… until NOW! And I’m now on that train honking the pollen horn because I’m hooked!
First let me explain what it comes from! Bee pollen gets stuck on the bees hairy legs as they collect pollen from the nectar. Bee keepers collects it by putting a tray down in the bee hives and collects it as it falls off their tiny little legs.
WHY you should eat it is because it’s JAM PACKED with amazing nutrients. Even more than in honey. Here are some;
- Bee Pollen is the richest source of VITAMINS found in nature
- High in protein
- Rich in antioxidants
- Boosts energy
- Aids in weight loss
- Boosts immunity
- Healthy Heart
- Helps Digestion
- Anti bacterial, anti fungal properties
+++ASK your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding if bee pollen are safe for you.
Bee pollen can also cause allergic reactions if you have allergies.
Adding just a teaspoon a day will for sure BOOST your health.
Here are some ways you can add it to your nutrition!
– Sprinkle over your Greek Yogurt
-Add into your smoothies
-It’s delish on warm oatmeal
-Your home made granola
-Top your cereal
-Add over salads
-Add to your popcorn
-Add on your toast with hazelnut spread, peanut butter or avocado.
-Add it to your coffee or tea.
I would LOVE to hear some of your thoughts about bee pollen. Do you use it, have you used it or are you interested in trying it? You can find some in most grocery stores now! I grabbed some at walmart the other day!
I hope you have a fantastic day.
